Currie Kirk yard is full of them: Dead Interesting People that is. And on June 9th over a hundred people turned out to explore the Kirk yard, tour the Kirk and study the maps, lists and family trees laid out for inspection. Much of the printed information is currently available for inspection in an exhibition in Currie Library on Lanark Road until the end of the month.

Juniper Green’s history can be discovered in all kinds of places! I’m looking forward to the Open Afternoon at Currie kirkyard on 9th June from 1pm – 4pm when Currie and District Local History Society has a family and community event.

Well a couple of weeks into the new website and we are still learning.
Some of the administrators of the site have managed to upload agendas and minutes of the meetings held since we started in November 2009 so please go and take a look. In addition, the latest newsletter has been placed on the website though if you live in the village you should have had a hard copy delivered through your letterbox thanks to the Explorer Scouts of Juniper Green.

Welcome to this new site for residents of Juniper Green and Baberton Mains.
We will retain a blog entry though it will not appear regularly at this early stage in our development.
We will take some time to settle down with all the functionality on the site so please bear with us until a few of us have come to terms with this new medium.
In the meantime, if you have ideas to improve our area let's hear from you.
