1. Juniper Green Farmers Market continues on Saturday 26 October from 9am-1pm in the dental surgery car park on Lanark Road.
The stalls this month will be the usual range of meat, game, veg, bread, sweet delights and much more. We expect Hopetoun Farm Shop, the Secret Herb Garden kitchen plants and the relish/chutney stall to be present too.
Councillor Dominic Heslop will be in attendance from 11am- 12 noon and is happy to take any issue of community concern: for example, to explain about the car club scheme and the presence of the new car in Baberton Avenue for community use.
The community stall this month will be occupied by the new Juniper Green Community Council … come and introduce yourself and chat about local issues.
The Scottish Music Group Buskers will be there to entertain you.
If you represent a community group and you would like to publicise your activities in this area please reply to this email with details to book the free community stall at one of the future markets.
Please note that due to the fourth Saturday of December falling this year on December 28 we have decided to cancel the December market.

2. Meet Your Politicians on Monday 9 December in the Gibson-Craig Hall, Currie starting at 7.30pm.
Our elected local representatives for Westminster, Holyrood and CEC have agreed to be present: Alistair Darling MP, Gordon MacDonald MSP, Councillors Dominic Heslop, Ricky and Bill Henderson. The C&B News are generously funding the event … mulled wine will be available at this free event.
It is expected to be friendly, fun and educational. The style will be similar to that of “Question Time” and will be as good as the questions you pose. You are asked to provide the questions so send them to this email address.
If you have a question on trident, planning or the state of our roads etc please send it by return together with contact details.
It is hoped that representatives of the community councils up and down the valley will then choose the questions to ask on the night. If your question is chosen you will be contacted ahead of the night and you will need to be there on the night to ask it in person.
We are expecting a good turn out so tickets will be available in the usual outlets in Juniper Green, Currie, Colinton and Balerno nearer the time. You will need a ticket to get in.
