Coffee Morning
4th January 2007

Gordon Renwick, Irene Thomson and Bill Blair discuss an old photograph at the reminiscence event in St Margaret's Court in Juniper Green on January 4th 2007

The first event of Juniper Green's special year took place in the form of a coffee morning in St Margaret's Court on January 4th. It was arranged to thank the thirty or so people who have shared their memories and old photographs of the village with the Juniper Green diggers group.

The centre-piece of this occasion was a magnificent 300th Birthday cake baked by Sheena Blair and decorated with an old picture of St Margaret's Church.

The Juniper Green diggers have taped the stories, typed them up and stored them on the website ready for its launch. Later, too, it is hoped to publish a small selection of the memories in print form as well as showing off some of the discoveries in an exhibition.

A reporter and photographer attended the event and their coverage of the morning went into the Evening News on Wednesday 3rd January: Village gears up for 300th celebrations (read online) and Saturday 6th January: Grab your mouse and enjoy a trip down memory lane (read online).
