The occasion was ably chaired by Willie Leslie who began by welcoming everyone to the event.

Then, David Geary got things underway with the Selkirk Grace. The haggis was piped in in traditional fashion by Chris Saddler and Chris Grieve.

One of the organisers and contributors was Bernard Povey who gave the Immortal Memory. His speech was very well-received, full of knowledge of the bard and appropriately sprinkled with humour throughout. He feigned nervousness and likened his situation in giving an after dinner speech to Daniel in the lion's den. However, Bernard quickly added that Daniel would not have after dinner speeches on his mind!

Another of the main organisers was Ken McNaughton who recited two of the famous Burns poems during the evening: Tam o' Shanter and Holy Willie's Prayer. Ken did not ride a horse home after the event!

All artists and guest speakers made outstanding contributions to a most enjoyable evening.
