Some of you may have noticed that BEAR Scotland have erected a new fence in Baberton Mains View. Community Council Representatives asked the BEAR engineers to see if this could be made good to tidy up the area. Unfortunately it was not that straightforward. Firstly we had to report the broken fence to Transport Scotland – and convincing the lady on the end of the phone that this bit of land was truly the responsibility of BEAR as it made up part of the environs of the trunk road took quite a lot of time! However, eventually we were given a job number, which meant it was “on the list” for action. Next thing we knew was that the BEAR van appeared and a fence was erected at the end of August. Let’s hope no-one demolishes it by coming too fast down the Baberton slip road!
