The audience gathering in Juniper Green Parish Church for a JG300 history talk

Regulars John Ross and Innes Paisley arrive for a JG300 event

The ninth and final talk in the Spring/Summer JG300 series took place on June 21st when speakers David Geary and Cliff Beevers prepared a virtual tour around the village following the route of the recent gala parade.

The technical requirements for the series of talks have been helped by the expertise of several members of the community over the weeks: Malcolm Brown, Andrew Watson and Jim Dewar have operated the sound system when talks have gone into the church and others like Richard Watt have assisted in getting the data projection linked up.

The two speakers working in tandum attempted to draw out some of the stories discovered by the JG300 diggers in their research over the last year. The speakers reminded the audience of the Bronze Age discoveries of the nineteenth century, of characters like the Juniper Green nightingale and some of the incidents in the Juniper Green past. The audience were encouraged to join in with their own reminiscences and they did so to great effect. There was some sadness that this was the last in the Thursday night series and some wondered what they would do in the next few weeks now that the programme had come to an end.
