Somewhat to the west of Baberton Mains Farm is a feature which is the remains of a rectangular enclosure which was probably an Iron Age settlement, possibly Roman. There are several other Roman remains in the area, such as a signalling station on Torphin Hill, as well as another at Ravelrig, and a fort at Camilty along the Lang Whang. Within the same enclosure, there are later - medieval remains of a farmstead, known as Currieheadrig.
