What was left of Woodhall Paper Mill in the early 1990s

Woodhall Paper Mill at Juniper Green

This is what was left of Woodhall Paper Mill (later called Woodhall Board Mill) in the 1990s. Another very sad picture. It was set up in 1747 to work flax then went onto paper in 1792 and was a major employer for the village. Later it made the sort of board used to pack presentation whisky bottles. Its' silver -coated offcuts were gratefully used for crowns for the village playgroup's nativity plays in the 1970s. The mill closed in 1983 and was pulled down.
