Woodhall House at Juniper Green

This brings you to Woodhall House. This is the big house of the village and here lived Sir John Foulis 1700 - 1707. Through his account books we can glimpse some of the life in this area at that time. The village sits on his land. He and his predecessor Cunninghame of Enterkin enclosed a good portion of land from the Currie Muir in 1682 and the little settlement grew down along the river and up on the road above. The house is much changed since he lived in it.
