What remains of the Currie Muir in the early part of the 21st century

Now, come down Muirwood Road. We are in Currie but you will get a good view of the last part of Currie Muir which was once common land and is now known ominously as Wimpey's field. It was claimed in 1797 (RHP 546) and split up between a number of small farmers. Some time later the broom and juniper were unearthed and stone brought in to wall it. It was ploughed and harrowed, and sown to produce barley. This field is exactly the same shape as on the map of 1797. Long may it remain so!
